We make music for dancin'

Miss Hits is an eight piece band from all corners of the Bay Area blending indie, jazz, R&B, and neo soul. Their sound is built around groove driven rhythm sections, lush horns, and thoughtful songwriting that moves easily between danceable tracks and more stripped back melodies.

The project started with Iranian American bassist, trombonist, and composer Leela Paymai, whose writing brings together the band’s mix of influences. What began as a group of friends playing together in a garage has grown into a tight live band known for energetic shows and a sound that blends multiple styles without feeling boxed into one lane.

Since releasing their first single, “Faking It,” Miss Hits has built a strong following around the Bay Area. They’ve played sold out shows at Rickshaw Stop and The Chapel, taken the stage at Great American Music Hall, and performed at the San Jose Jazz Festival. They’ve also shared bills with artists like Samm Henshaw, Nicole McCabe, Logan Kane, Mission Delirium, Peña, and more. 

Their self titled debut album came out on February 7, 2025 and features the single “Made For You.” As the band continues playing around the Bay and releasing new music, Miss Hits is steadily growing its audience and reputation as a standout live act.
